How To Create A Fingerprint

Clean hands/surface to be used.
Take a wax from a pot and use a hairdryer on a low setting to warm up or place in warm water (it should feel like Blu Tack).
Move the wax around in your fingers and roll into a ball ensuring a smooth surface.

FOR SINGLE SIDED PRINTS
Put the branded paper in the box on a hard surface (you can tape down to secure). Place the wax lightly onto the paper to secure and push their finger/thumb into the wax (the harder you push the thinner it’ll be).

FOR DOUBLED SIDED PRINTS
Follow the above steps then lightly press the wax on a finger or thumb and then push the other finger/thumb onto it then carefully separate them.
Again, the more pressure you apply the thinner it'll be.

Final Checks
Repeat the process as all three waxes will need to be completed.
It is important that you check the quality of the waxes before returning and that you are happy with them as the final casting will be an exact copy.
As a rule, if you can see the print to the naked eye then they will cast successfully. If unsure, please contact me with images.
The waxes can be used again and again so if you're not happy with the impression you can reheat and repeat the process.

Package Them Up
Put the waxes back into the pots, ensuring the non-stick paper is underneath and above the wax and then add the tissue paper to secure. Replace the lid.
Mark your preference from 1-3 on the lids of the pots.
Put the waxes in the postage box it came in and include your contact details. A stamp will be included in the parcel for return delivery.
The waxes can be used again and again so if you're not happy with the
impression you can reheat and repeat the process.
PLEASE NOTE : The metal casting will be exactly the same as the impression you’ve made
Fingerprint FAQs
What if I'm not happy with the wax?
No problem, the waxes can be reused by simply reheating and repeating the process.
Why do I need to do three waxes?
Having a backup is essential in case castings fail. Additionally, it is advisable to assess the suitability of waxes before casting.
What is the lead time?
Once the waxes are received back the necklace will be dispatched within 3 to 4 weeks.
If I'm not happy can I return the finished necklace?
Unfortunately not, due to the personalised nature of this item, we advise conducting a thorough examination of the waxes before sending it back as the resulting necklace will be an identical duplicate.
What age is this suitable for?
Fingerprints are said to typically develop after 12 months, although this is not an exact science. It's worth noting that some individuals naturally have very faint prints. Additionally, with aging, fingerprints can become even fainter.
Can I have one made in 9ct or 18ct gold?
Absolutely, please contact us for a quote.
I prefer the more organic shape, how do I achieve this?
If you apply more pressure the thinner your wax will be and more of an irregular shape.
Is it free to return the wax?
Yes! A 1st class large letter stamp will be included the kit.
