Quotes
Due to the current fluctuation in gold prices all bespoke quotes are only valid for 14 days.
Designs
At Katherine Seaman Jewellery we pride ourselves on creating one of a kind and unique jewellery and we will hold a strict no plagiarism policy. Whilst we are happy to see design inspiration as a starting point we will not reproduce designs you have seen elsewhere.
Deposit
Once you have approved my proposed design for the piece and the price, you are required to pay 50% of the agreed price as a non-refundable deposit. I will then start work making the piece.
Timescales
On receipt of the deposit, I will let you know the date by which you can expect to receive your finished piece. Please note that sometimes I need to use external services (for example hallmarking) and the completion dates cannot be guaranteed. Timeframes for bespoke jewellery can vary hugely depending on the complexity of the design but on average they take 8-12 weeks once the deposit has been received.
Updates
I will keep you updated with work in progress photos via e-mail or your preferred contact method.
Changes
Where practical I can consider changes to the changes to the design of the piece after you pay the deposit. If you would like to make changes please let me know and we can discuss them. If they are agreed I will let you know the revised price and I will start work once you have approved this.
Payment of balance and delivery
The remaining balance of the agreed price is payable on completion. On receipt of payment I can deliver or I will post it to you by insured Special Delivery (up to £2500).
Refunds
Refunds cannot be given on bespoke pieces, unless the item is faulty.
Delivery of pieces for re-modelling
If you are sending a piece for re-modelling by post, I recommend either dropping in to me in person or using a Signed For service with insurance (such as Royal Mail Special Delivery).
Risks
Please be aware that here is an inherent risk of gemstones cracking or chipping when being removed from a piece and re-set and any work to re-model existing pieces is carried out at your risk.
I cannot ensure the quality of your old jewellery, if there are no hallmarks extra testing will be needed which will incur extra charges. Unsafe metals in the gold, such as cadmium, could render them unsuitable for the remodel.
